Those who fought so hard during the COVID-19 era for the freedoms that were egregiously taken away are hopeful that with the new Trump administration, there will be action, compensation, and even a price to pay from those who so willingly punished us.
Unfortunately had to vote no on both Ely... I feel that unfortunately all are controlled by something, threats, coercion, blackmail, big money... Yuval Noah Harari talked about massive data collection being used against public figures in 2020, at the WEF Davos gathering... Even though he says "in 20 years" you know he means "right now", and I dare say people have never been easier to compromise. I think RFK would have been honeytrapped at the very least, and other coercion tactics??

I understand where you’re coming from, but if voters voted for politicians based on their ideas and goals—not on the dirt gleaned from these tactics, such efforts at compromising them would be far less effective. Personally, I vote for a politician’s stated policies, not on whether the person could be my friend.
Me too, but unfortunately "scandal" seems to hold sway... Personally I couldn't care less if they've had an affair, just so long as they do the job they're elected to do... Not the same for others, they go for personality it seems, just what I've gleaned from chatting with some people on their political views. I remember hearing Nancy Pelosi talk about how you leak a smear, even if untrue, it's reported on... Everyone remembers the initial report, but less remember it being proven untrue, therefore job done on that person and they lose public favour.
