Liberals are a disease that turn everything they touch into crap hole!

I grew up south of there. Was a beautiful city. Perfect example of what liberal policies always lead to - I saw it coming when all the Californians started moving up 30 years ago - and now they’ve recreated San Francisco. 🤮🤮🤮

First time I was in Frisco was in the 1960s, it was beautiful, last time, you had to step over the homeless, and the smells!

It's sad but these are the results of people voting for leftwing nutjobs. They apparently love living in filth because they keep voting for the same types of leaders years after year. There was a recent story about how some woman there had her lawn invaded by squatters and the police would not remove them. Of course they won't remove them. The city leaders are anti-police and the police would be in line for punishment if something went wrong. I don't feel sorry for this woman. She has likely voted for this kind of leadership in the past. She is getting what she voted for.

I will probably be in Texas in late May, so interesting to see what Dallas is like, if I dare.

Once beautiful, Portland is now a total shit hole. It is the world HQ for Antifa, which should be designated a Terrorist Organization. It features homelessness, crime, drugs, and it is, in general, unsafe to visit.

Portland is very dangerous. It reportedly has the greatest percentage increase in murder rate of any city in the United. States. Sadly, this is the pattern for the united states under the OBiden regime.

Amazing how in 2012, my wife and I were walking around with not a worry. The Marxists are winning.

I feel the same way about San Francisco. We took our kids there about 20 years ago, and I'm so glad we did. I would never visit there today, because I don't want those happy memories spoiled by literally stepping in sh*t...

You write; "Portland is another symbol of the decline of the American city". No, it is more! It is a demonstration of how the left and the WOKE have no concern for the individual or society as a whole. The same could happen here if the Greens, the WEF funded 'Independents', and the Left have their way. The VOICE, for example, is a blatant first attempt to undermine citizens' democratic rights.

Hence because of the left you have the decline of the American city. In Australia city mayors have little power and political affliation is not strong. State governments have all the power. If we get decades of the same party like in many U.S. cities, then we may go the same way.

There are however, some cultural differences.

Being politically "left" didn't used to mean these sorts of policies. It seems to me that left, right and green parties have ALL been hijacked by sinister entities that don't represent the interests of the people (or the Earth).

Few true liberals exist today.

This is what has happened in Texas too. Austin is an armpit of escapees from Los Angeles. Red states are receiving influx from leftist cities. If you want to live free of it, you must live as a nomad.

Austin too? I know it's a liberal city. Last time I was there was in 2018. A couple of great Japanese restaurants there. The state governors need to move in and remove toxic mayors. Yeah, it's not constitutional but whatever the left does is mostly unconsitutional. Do the right thing.

Yep. I’m in Texas now and watching Austin starting to look like Portland. So pathetic
