As a Canberra resident I am ashamed that we notched up another dubious honour, voting approximately 60/40 for the Voice compared to other Australian states and a territory who voted about 60/40 against.

Also, over 20% of our new car sales so far this year are EV’s, the highest by far in the country.

And this is on top of being arguably the most highly vaxxed city in the world. We didn’t have as many mandates as elsewhere, because we didn’t need them! We queued up willingly.

I am not sure of the precise definitions, but does that make us one of the most Woke, or Progressive , cities in the world?

Or something else?

Any other contenders out there?

NB: I voted No, will never own an EV, and am unvaxxed.

I'm with you Murray. Unfortunately, they are forcing us into EVs, whether we want them or not, plus there is a lot of misinformation on how green they are. We are seeing many outbreaks of fires from the batteries, plus if it rains too much it may pack in the battery. As this article shows, if that happens too bad, you're stuck by the bill, Tesla won't honour the warranty.

As an an Aboriginal Elder (Dharug) I too voted NO, am totally unvaxed and will never buy an EV as they make so much pollution in mining and processing the metals required to run them! Then most owner use fossil fuel electricity to charge them. WTF!

Hi Jade. Thanks for taking the time to respond to me. It is a true sham(e) that people are 'coerced' into getting the jab! Believe it or not but I had a Counselling job taken from me because I flatly refused to get the jabs. The stupid thing is, I was doing this job online! GO FIGURE! What do you do for a living? Are you living in Bourke? I believe that my house mate and I have a lot of things in common in these above mentioned matters. If you care to email me, my address is colloc@aapt.net.au

Ssdd.....same shit different day. The US does the crap here. Separately people is what we’re good at. Throwing money at a problem won’t fix it. It is societal and cultural.

NZ govt is just as shabby. Couldn't give a shit about the daily issues of ALL kiwis, but happy to chuck millions at 'consultants'. In our case " less hui*, hui, hui and more doi , doi, doi" would help. Maybe our new Govt will flush out the detritus. Here's hoping for both Aussie and Kiwi citizens.

*( hui is the Maori word for meeting/ discussion.doi is my bad English for 'doing, however it rhymes with hui!)

The voice was a dirty trick to get elite hands on our constitution... All the things they said "The Voice" would fix could be done without touching the constitution.

The constitution is the document that protects all our rights under law, whether you are Aboriginal or not (I remember a speech given in 1993 stating politicians would LOVE to get their hands on the constitution, to modify our rights, but they can't UNLESS we allow them access via a referendum... One of the details that was mentioned was that they MUST give exact details of the modifications sought, but "The Voice" have no specific details at all... So it's like saying "Here sign this blank piece of paper that is going to be a legally binding contract", you'd say, "This is blank, what are the details?", And they say "Don't worry we'll fill in the details later, trust us"... Thankfully most people were aware enough to say "No thanks")

☝️Good speech from 1993, the bit about constitution and our rights mentioned at 25:10 to 25:30.

What was most disturbing was how this was wrapped up in a question that we'd almost all want to say "Yes" to... essentially "to alter the Constitution to RECOGNISE the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice."

After all the hardships of colonisation, the terrible conditions many communities suffer etc etc... Emotionally you'd want to say "YES"... But it's a trick to get elite hands on your rights...

The voice would effectively be a third branch of government, that would likely have the power to override your current rights "to protect first nations people "... Pfizer put big dollars into a "Yes" push... Why? Could the Voice make mRNA jabs mandatory, overriding your right to say "no", to protect first nations people? Possibly, we don't know, but SUS for them to put their hand in their pockets if the weren't getting something (given they won't compensate victims of their vax)... This lack of detail was disturbing from the outset... and if this did happen, Aboriginal people would be the scapegoat, not the elites and their corporate dollars...

Rio Tinto put big money in too, why? Would Rio Tinto get approval to mine first nations lands, where independent miners will not? I wonder 🤔...?? Corporates just do not put in money where there is no benefit for them...

https://www.riotinto.com/en/news/trending-topics/voice-to-parliament

So far as a "voice to parliament", none of this needs a constitutional change, a voice to parliament has almost similar written aspirations as ATSIC (the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission).

ATSIC was set up "to ensure maximum participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in government policy formulation and implementation; to promote Indigenous self-management and self-sufficiency; to further Indigenous economic, social and cultural development"

ATSIC, despite its corruption and failure, did not require a constitutional change to enact the same ideals, so WHY modify our constitution this time?

A smokescreen for WEF/UN/WHO agendas...? (Hint: Yes)

I left my union membership at work, as I was sacked for not taking the jibby jab, But... Out of nowhere they RING me up and leave a message about joining them for a virtual meeting to see how "we" can secure "victory" for The Voice...??!!! Why are they interested in a "yes" vote? It has nothing to do with workers or workers rights... Nothing at all, worker's rights should be the unions primary concern surely? I don't recall a meeting like this re work vax mandates, they weren't interested at all. Even though you could be sacked if you didn't bow to works coercion? That is a time they should have stood up if ever. No meetings, no support, stuff all...

I do recall Klaus Schwab bragging they had infiltrated trade unions, which given this call would suggest the "voice" is of interest to WEF corporate agendas, and nothing to do with bettering Aboriginal lives...

All the propaganda in the media campaign "better healthcare", "will I go to school?", "will I learn my own language?"... All of this DOES NOT NEED a modification to the constitution... Billions go to this now, around the order of 40 Billion...

https://youtu.be/YH4dd4QRYoI?si=_RWJofe_1HYKxj2R

I have Aboriginal heritage within my family (they voted no too), as they knew all of the questions in the media campaign were possible already... and bordering on a contrived lie... They said they get access to good healthcare services above and beyond average free doctors and free taxi to and from the doctor if they want, they can get special assistance to go to school, there are already schools in the communities, the languages are taught, they get an extra special payment to go to university... So how would constitutional access make any difference, other than maybe putting money into these services if considered under par?

Now there is the socioeconomic problems of the communities that are very complex to sort out, I get it... Entrenched social problems are difficult to solve, but this requires social service efforts, not constitutional meddling...

Some have mentioned the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, as a backdoor to one world government and dispossession of your property... These days I do not doubt this at all... A land grab under "native title" and a power grab... This article is excellent and I highly recommend a brief read...
