Just a warning about Substack; they cant explain how they got my credit card details, to draw money out of my account, and they arent doing anything about it yet. They have refunded the money, but the question still remains.

My bank gave me the wrong information, but Substack does work like that, with everyone sharing your credit card details. It doesnt seen very secure, but I suppose they call that convenience. I did give Substack my card details on an earlier occasion.

Everyone sharing credit card details? I assumed it was only Stripe the payment company which processed credit cards. I would contact them about their security. It doesn’t sound right.

I have realized that you only have to click once on a free week or month trial on any Substack, and Stripe has all your card numbers, and takes your money without further notice. It may be secure, but it seems too easy. I didnt think it would work like that. And my bank kept paying them, even after I put a hold on all card payments. I didnt expect that. All doesnt actually mean all. Live and learn.

Yes I noticed that. You have to go an unsubscribe then re-subscribe as a free one if you don’t want to continue as paid.
