Very interesting! I have always felt like whole body care is the way to go. I always preferred a DO over an MD, and I like ‘functional medicine’ doctors best.
Thank you Claire. I gave a very basic outline without getting too detailed. I used to give my patients a 40 minute presentation of what we do. Understanding is one of the first steps in healing.
Absolutely ! I couldn't agree more. As we learn more about anything and understand the mechanisms of a process, we're in a far better place to help our selves, make the rite choices and it's only rite one should understand how your own body works . It is the first step to healing and having a say over how to help one's self. You have a fabulous reputation that is well earned. A professional who takes great pride in including the patient in their healing. I love that you work with the 40 minute presentation. Such a fantastic way to navigate care.
I did those for decades. Now as I only do home visits, I do a one-on-one explanation of what chiropractic is about before I touch their spine. Thanks for you comments Claire.
That's exactly how all treatments should be conducted. It's clear how excellent your care and treatments are I read many of your posts and you're a favourite Dr of mine. I'd absolutely love for you to sort out my sciatica and ruptured discs. I'm Only 42 but I'm a horse rider and have had many a fall. Including a fall where i lost my spleen, tore my diaphragm, reputured my stomach, and lung and broke my collar bone. Unfortunately I'm in the UK and you're in the US . I love your thinking Steve. Stay well and take care until your next post.
Oh Ely, I didn't realise you're from Australia ! I opologise for branding you an American 😆. I eat extremely clean food and exercise a lot, walking my dog and riding. I've seen a physio as that was what I was advised to do after the mri scan of my back and the NHS paid for me to see a really nice guy at our local hospital. Due to a recent fall he thinks I need to let the inflammation come down (curcumin helps me) before I can do much more as far as treatment. I don't know where Steve came from, that's my son's name so I expect my clever phone has out smarted it's self again with predictive text. It often makes me look very foolish. I have a fantastic friend who is entirely holistic who has given me a number for a chiropractor. I thought I'd wait to see what the physio said first as it was free gratis , however I would really appreciate some kind of help with my sciatica and trapped nerve on the other side. I shall do as you say and make a call. You're quite rite. Thank you Ely.
Oh how interesting. I am not sure of the overlaps between this and what I have written. My research is amateur (from a medical point of view) and early days. But you might find it interesting. My conclusion, what ails us is collapse of the vagus nerve. What treats us is something that treats the vagus nerve. When we go into hospital with covid, we come out with a flurry of other ailments. They are all and end result of collapse of the vagus nerve. Maybe a bit narrow but a good focus for more research.
Christine, I never heard of a 'collapse' of the Vagus nerve. The vagus along with the splanchnic nerves in the sacral region are parasympathetic nerves which make up one half of the autonomic system. You are correct, that it supplies all the internal organs and the blood vessel lining. The other half is the sympathetic system.
The Vagus slows you down, the sympathetics speed you up (fight or flight). You can have an autonomic imbalance for various reasons including Covid-19. The virus (and yes, there is a virus) affects different people in a different way, not just in the respiratory system. The spike protein has detrimental effects in some people in multiple areas.
Though Ivermectin and Hyroxy are anti-parasitic, they do have some antiviral properties. Ivermectin was found in an Australian lab to inhibit the Sars Cov-2 virus. Covid-19 virus is similar to the cold virus except for a few amino acid alterations in the genome, that's why many say it was artificially created in the lab.
Yes, chiropractic can help with the Vagus nerve insofar as getting the nervous system more balanced. The vagus nerve, which is the 10th cranial nerve, leaves the brain stem and loops in close proximity to the top vertebra in the spine called the Atlas or C1. A subluxation (malposition) of C1 can irritate the vagus. Similarly, the sympathetic nerve fibres can be interfered by spinal subluxations.
Yes, thanks. However, critical to me is what happened to me.
Loss of voice, in ability to swallow, uncontrollable coughing, tachycardia, pneumonia, loss of bowel control and loss of bladder control, all of them shutting down operations on the same day. They also all came back into operation on the same day. This is what made me curious.
How on earth can everything connected to the vagus nerve stop functioning simultaneously, and how can everything connected to the vagus nerve come good simultaneously?
Is there any other potential connection between all these functions to explain the simultaneous collapse and recovery?
If nothing parasitic (from viruses to parasites) can actually get to the nerve and attack it (is that true?), then 5G or some other severe electrical disturbance most certainly can. 5G or some other form of electrical disturbance was identified right at the start of covid as a likely cause of the inability of the body to oxygenate itself (which is what nearly killed me) but that idea seems to have disappeared from the public dialogue. However, it is still the only theory that does make sense of the full picture of what happened to me. Of course, the hospital completely ignored all the other symptoms and gave me no treatment for anything other than bacterial infection of the lungs and supposed diabetes. As always, they were incapable of seeing the body as an integrated whole and so incapable of treating it.
Christine, let me say it's awful what you have experience.
What you have probably experienced is multi-organ failure or dysfunction. Remember the spike protein whether on the surface of the virus, or in the jabs, has affinity for ACE2 receptors on the surface of cells. These are the way it enters the cells. These receptors are in endothelial cells (which line the blood vessels throughout the body). The result is micro-clotting.
Reduced blood flow can impact any organ and cause major problems. Whether 5G has an effect and to what extent is another matter. However, the body will react to the attack by bringing the autonomic nervous system along with the immune system into action. This is where you can get this cytokine storm as well which can really be devastating on the body.
I don't know much about chiropractic but I know that I have to force myself to drink an adequate amount of water to avoid back pain. It's amazing how important proper hydration actually is.

Thank you for sharing this information!
This is an excellent piece of information and I'm happy to say I'm now far more aware of what a chiropractic Dr does. Either way I love your work.

Claire, I am in Australia. Steve? You obviously had a vey traumatic injury. Ask around for someone who can help you.

Can chiropractic treatment impact on the vagus nerve?

As we age, the spinal discs lose their water content, so water is important for that reason. The discs are innervated by pain-sensitive nerve fibres.
I'm going to claim that you are agreeing with me that adequate hydration can help to eliminate back pain. All I know is that it works in my case.
The medical establishment is doing to its own what it did for decades to chiropractors.
