Novavax, officially known as Nuvaxovid, seems to be the month's flavour at the moment. Many people are anxious about getting more Covid injections. Some have suffered severe adverse reactions, and others have heard about the potential risks. The hype by the media and others is that Novavax is safe. Perhaps, it is safer than Pfizer or Moderna, but it's too early to tell.
So how is Novavax different? It's different in some ways but similar in others. Unfortunately, Novavax creates the spike protein–the toxic portion of the Coronavirus–to inject into the arm. This is a similar approach to the other genetic vaccines instead of a killed whole virus vaccine.
In the case of Novavax, the spike is produced by genetically modifying a virus to infect moth cells, making the spike protein meant to induce an immune response in the body. Unfortunately, the spike is based on the original alpha strain, so immunity is limited.
Dr Lynn Fynn is a virologist and infectious disease expert who is not sold on Novavax.
Listen to what she has to say in this audio interview:
Novavax has only been out for just over three months in Australia. I took the time to go to the Therapeutic Goods (TGA) Adverse Events Notification site to look at the data for the past three months.
The Number of Reports (cases): 623
The Top reported symptom was chest pain: 169
There were 72 palpitations (rapid heartbeat) cases following the injection and 28 instances of Pericarditis (inflammation of the heart sac). Of course, there were many other symptoms, including neurological, skin and menstrual disorders.
It appears they are throwing the kitchen sink at this virus. The problem is that it is spreading like wildfire and notably in the triple-jabbed. We're in a situation where the chambers in the gun are empty. There are no more bullets left, except for one; using early treatment protocols and preventative measures. That's probably a bridge too far for the TGA.
I think we can all agree that Novavax is no safer than the other alternatives, simply from the short term adverse events reported in their clinical trial and also what is reported on Australia's TGA site.
We can't always step in someone else's shoes. I have seen many people who were torn between supporting their family and having to inject themselves with these awful products. One of the things people can do to mitigate the effects of the shots is to start Ivermectin, the day of the injection and then continue on for the next 5 days.
