The next three weeks and two years will make or break America. The country is really hitting the point of no return. It's obvious Donald Trump will be seeking the presidency once again. The only qualification is if the current Department of Justice decides to indict him for the January 6 Capital riots. I suspect they will be; otherwise, why bother raiding his home in Florida?
Is it time for Trump to step aside? Yes, the Trump presidency had positives on many policies, especially as he was constantly attacked by those suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome. However, this time around, Trump has several Achilles Heels. More on that later.
When addressing the following items, American voters need to ask themselves in the upcoming mid-term election whether they were better off two years ago or worse? Yes or No?
Inflation
Illegal Immigration
Energy Output
Crime
Illicit Drugs
Police Numbers
Crime
Schooling
International Relations
U.S. Debt
Societal Polarization
The answer to all of the above is a resounding 'Yes'. The Biden Presidency is fraught with policies that look as if they are intended to destroy the very foundation of America. What is stunning is how quickly the transformation has taken place. This fulfils Barack Obama's pledge to "fundamentally transform" America.
There is no way that the upcoming mid-term election should even be close. The Democrats––by any measure of their performance––should be blown out of the water. However, the generic polls show that the Republicans and Democrats are only separated by a few points, so nothing is settled until it's over.
You have a President who is just a frontman for the fanatical left who have corrupted the U.S. government. Making matters even worse, Biden is clearly incapable of Presidential leadership. His dementia is becoming more evident as time passes. It's staggering that the American media covers for the man.
Meanwhile, globally, leaders see a weak America led by a man who shakes hands with imaginary people in thin air. Or he thanks Congresswoman Jackie Walorski for attending a ceremony even though she had died in a car accident.
Biden and his advisers have managed to drive friends like India and Saudi Arabia closer to the Chinese government. Right now, America should be massaging its relationship with the Saudis, who have liberalized their society. It can be another country that would sign a peace deal with its former enemy, Israel. The Saudis and Israelis have been communicating, though not officially recognizing each other, thanks to the Trump administration. Biden seems intent on sabotaging the relationship.

So now we come to Donald Trump. The first issue we have to consider is age. I'm opposed to ageism because it is a form of discrimination against older people. However, sometimes one has to accept that they are not up to the job at a certain age. Some seniors are vibrant and even still working into their 80s and beyond. There are still some very clear-headed seniors, while others–like Biden–should have retired long ago.
The average life expectancy for males in the U.S. is 76 years. That is Trump's age now; if he runs in 2024, he will be 78 years old. He would finish his term at 82. The odds of getting a severe illness or dying increase exponentially with age. That, we accept. There are, of course, exceptions.
One must ask why, out of 335 million people, the U.S. is electing such older adults to positions of power? It's time to get younger people in positions of power.
The other factor for many is that Trump keeps touting his great "Operation Warp Speed", designed to fast track Covid vaccines. It seems that Trump has little self-awareness about what a disaster the vaccines have been.
Trump renews praise for Covid vaccines, 'one of the greatest achievements of mankind'
In December 2021, when the 'vaccines' had been out for a year, Trump stated the following in an interview: "The vaccine is one of the greatest achievements of mankind," Furthermore, he said, "I came up with a vaccine, with three vaccines all are very, very good,"
He can't keep using the excuse that Fauci or his other advisors led him astray. In fact, you have to wonder why he didn't recognize that Fauci was an elderly bureaucrat who constantly changed his tune about Covid.
Trump also brings a lot of baggage with him. Rightly or wrongly, many perceive him as a liability because of his sometimes inappropriate comments or the perception that he gained his riches through ill-gotten means. Never mind that many American politicians have made fortunes by conveying political favours.
The apparent alternative to Trump is Florida Governor Ron Desantis. He is young (44), articulate, intelligent and has a military background. He graduated from Harvard Law school. He handles himself extremely well when confronted by the media and isn't shy about making decisions. A good example was when he fired a prosecutor who openly refused to prosecute certain crimes.
I think DeSantis would be ideal for 2024. We shall see how this plays out.
I would prefer DeSantis but would take Trump over any Democrat.
I have had many of these same thoughts. De Santis should run and put Trump in charge of the economy, Tulsi at SOS, Kristi Noem as VP, and have Peter Schiff run the Fed...and then I woke up. Good post
