The dumbing down of education
The sheer madness that has gripped many elite universities since October 7 amid the butchery, rape, torture, and mutilation of some 1,400 Israeli civilians by Hamas murderers shows that we have a severe problem. How can you know where things stand without understanding history? The young in our schools and universities will become the adults running our countries. What sort of country will we have? The future doesn't look promising if today's youth is anything to go by.

It's pretty pathetic. Most Americans could not identify where Ukraine is on the map. Some actually think it's in Asia.
It's not only history but geography that needs to be taught in depth. When I went to school in Canada, history was not an option. We studied European, American, Canadian and even some Australian history. The learned about significant world events, everything from the Magna Carta to the Enlightenment, the French, American and Russian Revolutions, and all the "isms": socialism, communism, naziism and capitalism.
When I speak to young people today and ask them about what they learned in these areas, I usually get a shrug of the shoulders, or they'll retort that it was then. Studying history is a waste of time. Of course, when you're taught ideological dribble like catastrophic climate change, there is no room for much history or geography.
What is even worse, there are professors openly preaching hate, dividing people, which leads to radicalization.

An instructor at Stanford separated Jewish students from their belongings, ordered them to stand in the corner, boasted about denying the Holocaust, and singled them out for unhinged rantings.
Screaming campus activists and professors openly support Hamas even after its brutal killing of hundreds of Israeli women, children, and infants, not to mention the daily showering of unprovoked rocket attacks on civilian populations by Hamas.
An even bolder Cornell history faculty member bragged that he was "exhilarated" by the news that Jews were butchered on October 7. A UC Davis professor threatened to go after the children of "Zionist journalists." "Savages", "excrement", and "pigs" are the adjectives and nouns one professor at the Art Institute of Chicago posted to describe Israelis. It goes on and on. This is the higher education that children are exposed to.
At rallies and protests, hundreds shout about eliminating Israel altogether, students, faculty, and others. These campus haters are straight-out anti-Semites. All the gains of the civil rights movement have been thrown out. If you make racist comments against blacks, it's a no-no, but with Jews, it's open season. Racism in any form is reprehensible, but it's acceptable under today's educational system—only in one direction.
Meanwhile, the educational standards of the young continue to decline.

Then we have the illustrious Greta Thunberg, who lectures us about climate change and probably couldn't describe the carbon cycle. Yet, the Western media drools over this kid with her inane emotional outbursts. Why have we elevated this person who has probably yet to study history? Now, she is leading the charge for Hamas.
At least Israel is doing something about Thunberg.

Why she was on the curriculum is beyond me. If there is anyone who epitomizes the state of our youth, it's none other than Thunberg.
Ivy League universities such as Harvard, Columbia and Stanford are now dens of hatred. You have to wonder what they actually learn? It's certainly not traditional liberalism, which rationally encompasses different ideas. There is only one viewpoint allowed now.
Mostly, education in the West is dumbing down the young. Parents need to stop sending their kids to these schools. They need to be selective in the schools they choose. These kids will be the future doctors, lawyers, judges and professors. Even the professions which have been highly respected have now been captured. How about focusing on one's job instead of buying into extremist ideologies.
I'd like to say history is such an incredibly important subject for all students of the world to learn for so many reasons, you can not remove an important figure from the curriculum because they are not a suitable role model. It's comical to think this is even being used as an excuse , Hitler and the Nazis were despicable role models but it's highly important we learn about them and the entire world wars and their political view points. This is just an excuse by another Hitler type to indoctrinate and feed only the " thruth's" they want telling to the people to be told. A huge red flag .
