I came across the term Diversicrats from Ayaan Hirsi's substack, Restoration, so I have to give her attribution for the term.
We tend to think of American polarization between red and blue states, liberal vs conservative, or Democrats vs Republican. It goes much deeper than that. Firstly, let's define the two terms:
Meritocrats believe that success and achievement are based on ability and merit, which is how people ultimately succeed in a particular area of life. Diversicrats aim for a diversified society, meaning that the basis for selectivity is not merit so much as identity, whether racial, gender, or religious.
The real divide is that one values growth and enlightenment, and the other values equity based on making everyone the same regardless of ability. We can see how the latter played out in the recent assassination attempt on Trump. A couple of female secret service agents couldn't function for what the role demanded. One was seen crouching, and the other did not have the size to subdue Trump––a big man–– to keep him down and safe. The oath of the agents is to put themselves between the person they are deemed to protect and a potential assassin. Diversity has caused a dysfunctional Secret Service.
The head of the Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatle, proposes to have 30% of the agency female by 2030. That is based on diversity rather than on whether someone is the most suited for the position. According to the logic, there is no diversity in the NBA or the NFL because the majority of the players are black. The skin color should have nothing to do with it. If most of the top players are black based on merit, then that is how it is meant to be. It would be preposterous to dilute that talent to have more whites on the team rosters.
The equity agenda is the essence of the Diversity Equity Inclusion (DEI) agenda. It is, in fact, a destructive and dangerous force. It has compromised the educational, airline, and entertainment systems. This has not started in the past couple of years. Affirmative action has been in place for years, leading to quotas, where certain racial groups have been given preference in university entry.
The pursuit of truth, once the cornerstone of university life, has been subordinated to the dogmas of ideological activism. DEI has perverted this process, which serves to separate the populace and ultimately leads to chaos.
The diversity agenda generates chaos and disorder by its very nature, while meritocracy leads to evolutionary advancement, which has served humanity so well.
As demonstrated on the International Air Transport Association web page, the airline industry is all in on DEI.
Advancing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion with 25by2025
"25by2025 is a global initiative led by IATA to enhance diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) in the aviation industry. Brought to life in 2019, 25by2025 emphasizes the significance of adopting best practices to foster greater DE&I and gender balance in the aviation sector.
With more than 200 signatories, the change is already taking place in the aviation industry."
The focus is not on merit but on fostering more gender balance, including gender fluidity and racial quotas. Is this really what we want in the airline industry, in our pilots, or, for that matter, in a brain surgeon? No! We want the most qualified, whether it's male/female, black, white, Asian, Hispanic, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, or any other group. Instead, identity politics has infiltrated both government and the corporate world, and unfortunately, it's spreading to countries like Australia.
If you want to see how meritocracy brings out the best, watch the documentary, The Blue Angels.
I remember seeing the Blue Angels at an air show about 32 years ago. These are incredible pilots, flying in formation with wing tips inches apart. Then there are the amazing hair-raising maneuvers. The movie follows the veterans and the new crop of pilots who must pass very rigid training. There are no excuses here; there is no DEI because one small slip-up can easily lead to death.
The difference between the Meritocrats and Diversicrats is a chasm, and Americans will have a very distinct choice when they go to the polls in the November election.
Thank you for saying what needed to be said.
Good article!
Humanity is all about mirroring - look at regional and national accents and language itself. The *last* thing a living being wants is to be the odd-one-out. Fuck DEI. I'm going down to the non-woke pub with the lads!
