Fear is the belief that somewhere in the future, you will experience more negative than positive, more pain than pleasure, or more loss than gain. It is an emotionally charged state that results in physiological changes. Your sympathetic nervous system—fight or flight mechanism—is engaged when you are in a fearful or anxious state. It produces neurotransmitters and hormones like cortisol, adrenaline and catecholamines.
Suppose you are in a situation where you see a rabid dog ready to attack your child. In that case, you need an active sympathetic system to take over. You can grab your child and run or get some makeshift weapon to stave off the attacking dog. Of course, you don’t need this system active when you’re trying to eat a meal or sleep. This is where the parasympathetic system is meant to be in control. It’s your calmer, vegetative system.
Unfortunately, fear has absorbed many since the advent of Covid-19 that people live with an underlying sympathetic dominance. This is unhealthy and stressful and can lead to physical and emotional disorders. Despite no more mask mandates where I am, I still see many people walking around with masks, even outdoors. This is part of the mass psychosis, which has become a prominent feature since early 2020. We see more evidence of this when parents and others are upset that they can no longer get their children under 12 injected in the U.K. with the Covid jabs.
Anger at plans to roll back Covid vaccines to under-11s in England
It doesn’t help that you have politicians and the media stoking fears and hysteria. Those susceptible are primed to respond to any crisis the panic merchants throw at them. For instance, recently, they discovered some polio virus in Long Island Wastewater; panic stations!
Hochul declares N.Y. polio emergency after tests show virus in Long Island wastewater
Here again, a politician stoking panic. It’s unconscionable. Was any poliovirus detected last year or five years ago? Have they bothered telling people that there are more cases of polio today due to the live virus in the vaccines than in the naturally occurring virus? Of course, they don’t; it might upset the vaccine industry. Some of those cases resulted in childhood paralysis.
We also have headlines like the one below from Nature as to why there are polio outbreaks.
Outdated polio vaccine causes new cases of disease
So Governor Hochul needs to get off her silly ways of making an emergency pronouncement because there was a virus detected in wastewater.
The WHO also got in on the act when it declared a Monkey Pox Emergency in July 2022. Why? Because there were 16,000 cases worldwide. You now have a situation where many Americans fear Monkey Pox more than Covid. This is even though Monkey Pox is not transmitted like Covid. It is not carried by aerosols in the air but by body contact and is primarily related to sexual activity.
We can look at most infectious diseases since the early 20th century and see that the death rate declined dramatically before the advent of vaccinations.
Below is a chart of five illnesses with a significant mortality rate in the U.S. All were in steep decline before vaccines entered the picture.
In this chart of the U.K., polio peaked at the end of the Second World War and had substantially declined by the time the Salk Vaccine came out.
Many have forgotten about the tragic Cutter incident:
The tainted polio vaccine that sickened and fatally paralyzed children in 1955
It was ‘one of the worst biological disasters in American history,’
The vaccine made by Cutter Labs ended up having a live virus instead of the killed virus. Out of 120,000 children who received the virus, 40,000 contracted polio, 51 were paralyzed, and five died. People at the time were so gripped by fear they ranked polio second to the atomic bomb in the fear factor. So fear is nothing new. As tragic as this was, it pales compared to the tragedy of the Covid shots, not only for children but many adults.
Today we have so much misplaced fear. We fail to appreciate that we live in incredibly opportune times. In the 20th century, we had two major world wars and the Great Depression. There was a lack of good nutrition in many countries, and people starved. We now have a voluminous amount of food—perhaps too much—with the lowest poverty level in human history.
Remember, until the 1940s, there were no antibiotics. When I was born, my mother developed a severe pelvic infection progressing to septicemia. She went into a coma and came out of it after three daily injections of penicillin in the butt for seven days. In those days, you needed dispensation to get penicillin.
Public health and sanitation were nowhere what it is today. This is the most incredible time in human history to be alive if we can keep it that way. For some reason, we need to create a jab for every child and every condition that exists. Is it any wonder that today we have children with more chronic ailments than ever? The average child will receive more than 40 injections on the immunization schedule before adulthood. Do you think that’s a good thing? I don’t.
We shouldn’t be fearing every new viral ailment that hits society. Living in fear is no way to live your life. Fear is this future imagining of what may be. It is often an illusion and not based on actuality.
What you're saying is so, so true . It's a particularly wretched form of health decline and mental health decline. Great article Ely. I love your work as you know , thank you for writing your brilliant articles and educating us all on so many matters that really matter x x x x
Perhaps of interest -- though we see COVID as only one aspect of how the Radical Left, NWO, etc, are creating constant fear and panic. Doctor Robert Malone (and others) argue that about 1/3 of the population have been Hypnotized into functional insanity. Look up "Mass Formation Psychosis."
It's how Hitler came to power.
Decades later, after nuclear weapons, the military refined this into "Mind War"
Our small pamphlet Mindless War (an eBook -- only $1.06 on Amazon) discusses this.
