I told someone what I saw just a few days ago. It was while I was filling my car at the service station. At the next pump, a Mercedes pulled up with a man with a mask on without anyone else in the car. Before he exited the vehicle to fill the tank, I noticed that he spread hand sanitizer on his hands and right up his arms. At that point, I felt like telling him that masks don’t work against Covid-19 or other respiratory viruses.
However, rationalizing with someone in the throes of psychosis is futile. This person, along with others, is disconnected from reality. In reality, masks don’t work, and continuously dousing your skin with disinfectant is not ideal because it destroys all the natural organisms that live peacefully on our skin. It will dry out your pores.
Then I came across this little gem from Steve Kirsch where he asked people sitting next to him on a plane the question; would they take their masks off if he offered them $10,000. Believe it or not, the two beside him said no.Fear and anxiety are powerful motivators. We now have people in a state of irrational fear because Covid is waning and even in its prime, it was a very survival condition––especially if early treatment was allowed.
Well, fear and anxiety are powerful motivators in human behaviour. Whether you call it brainwashing or psychosis, it all has the same effect. The Covid panic merchants were quite successful.
Saw someone today driving too fast almost on the wrong side of my street wearing a mask just below her bottom lip, one hand on a cigarette, the other on the steering wheel. Strange how human beings assess risk.
My friend’s 88 year old mother lives in a nursing home. Whenever a staff member walks in to her room, she says “Only bandits wear masks. Is this a stick up? Take that thing off!”
There is no cure for stupidity and willful ignorance. I am sure there will be a vaccine for both someday.
