The Good Ship America Is Sinking Fast Like A Rock

In October 2020, I wrote an article, Will People Be Singing, Bye Bye Miss American Pie, After The U.S. Election? I wrote it as a metaphor for the continuing decline of America if Joe Biden won the November 2020 election.

Well, whether legitimately or not, Biden did win the election. What I didn't anticipate was just how rapidly the U.S. would decline. It is like a ship with a big hole in its hull and sinking like a rock. How could an administration get it so wrong in just over a year?

How did America elect such an amateurish person to be president? Worse still, the people in his administration are a bunch of incompetent fools.

Is this America? America set up the Manhattan Project that developed the atomic bomb in 18 months. It ended the war with Japan in 1945. The country put men on the moon with the Apollo missions starting in July 1969. America was the visionary country where Silicon Valley established our modern technology from the smartphone to streaming movies. America was a can-do nation.

Unfortunately, today, America is a former shell of itself. The Biden presidency is disastrous at best. As a result of Biden's actions, we have a critical situation for America and, by extension, the rest of the western world. The world order is turned upside-down.

Biden has not only significantly weakened the U.S., but he has also caused a realignment of the world order. How has this happened? Frankly, it was predictable.

On the chart below, you can see what has happened to the price of crude oil during the Biden presidency. If you go back to inauguration day, the price per barrel was $53. Todays' price is double what it was then.

This happened because Biden cancelled a significant pipeline from Canada to the U.S., he blocked many oil leases and imposed restrictions on new drilling. Meanwhile, he supported the Nordstream 2 pipeline from Russia to Germany. Biden also increased U.S. oil imports from Russia––yes, Russia––the country that they are supposedly sanctioning. This was done intentionally to appease the left-wing of the Democrat Party, who are all in on the "Green New Deal". As the chart below shows, these people live in la-la land. We are totally dependent on fossil fuels at this point in time. To restrict their use only shifts production to other countries, putting the West at a disadvantage.

So U.S. producers have been hampered while Putin in Russia probably thought all his Christmas' had come at once. Russia is earning so much from oil that it can easily finance the war effort. At the same time, European countries are even more dependent on Russian gas and oil.

Perhaps the most sinister development is how the Biden administration has driven China and Russia into an alliance by not engaging with Russia. This is a realignment that puts the U.S. in a much weaker position. China, the economic powerhouse, backs Russia, a resource-rich country. Also, it's to be noted that India, formerly a staunch U.S. ally, abstained in a UN vote from condemning Russia's action in Ukraine. You now have Russia, China, North Korea, Iran and Pakistan in an alliance with America the great enemy.

I am no fan of Putin. Make no mistake about it, Putin is a thug, and you wouldn't want to meet him in a back alley. However, like all thugs and bullies, they can be neutralized when they perceive that their adversary is strong. Putin moved because he sensed that America was now weak. The disastrous Afghanistan pullout didn't go unnoticed. The gifts keep coming to Putin as Biden's State of The Union address on March 1st did not help with his many flubs. You may remember in 2020 when Biden put out this tweet about Putin. This was an indication of Biden's delusional state.

While there is outrage in the West about the invasion of Ukraine, it's interesting that there is no outrage against China. Whether people die from a military conflict or a virus, it's all tragic. Sars Cov-2 emanated from China. At the very least, China failed to inform the world of the seriousness of Covid, allowing people to fly out of China to other countries. This led to the death of millions. The virus likely emanated from the Wuhan Virology Lab, and no one has been held accountable. Suppression of early treatment also led to many deaths––more than will die in Ukraine.

The West not only didn't hold China accountable, but it also encouraged China with the Winter Olympics. China has played the West for fools. With Putin and Xi in a pact, the U.S. and its European allies look weaker than at any time since the Second World War.

The Ukrainian President, Zelensky, admirably shows a brave face; the reality is that unless he surrenders and seeks peace talks, there will be even more carnage with dead civilians. The U.S. and its allies are making things worse by sending more armaments to Ukraine. How much death and devastation will follow?

Unfortunately, many American politicians do not realize how weak America is today, and add fuel to the fire by egging on the war. This is irresponsible. Making statements such as enforcing no-fly zones will lead to an escalation. So what happens if President Xi decides to move against Taiwan? Remember, Xi considers Taiwan part of China. Knowing that Taiwan is the largest semiconductor producer globally, would America go to war over that? Our whole society is dependent on technology, and whether it’s iphones, laptops or military hardware, semiconductors are critical.

The mantra coming out of American politicians is that they support democracy. Oh, I guess they mean like:

 Biden Interfered In the Due Process of Another Country––Ukraine.

Why did he do that? Because a Prosecutor was investigating a corrupt energy Ukrainian company, Burisma. Who was on the board of the company? None other than Joe Biden's son, Hunter.

While we hear about supporting democracy for Ukraine, for the past two years, many of these self-righteous politicians robbed people in the West of their democratic rights with lockdowns, mandates and censorship for daring to express a counter viewpoint.

Since the fall of the Soviet Union, we thought it couldn't happen, but a world war isn't out of the question. It happened before when America was perceived as weak pre-Second World War. Is history repeating? It sure looks that way with the likes of the current inept U.S. administration. We live in dangerous times.
