The Decline of Western Values: What's Really Happening?

Traditional Western Values are disintegrating rapidly. As a radio host and podcaster, Michael Savage has repeatedly said that without borders, language, and culture, countries and civilizations collapse, and chaos ensues.

We are in the era of postmodernism, which basically rejects the notion of the Enlightenment with its acknowledgment of objective reality. Postmodernism denies scientific objectivity and rationality, which, of course, leads to the acceptance of irrationality. This evolves into a misguided acceptance that anything goes, that brutality and murder are an acceptable way to ameliorate perceived wrongs. It’s what led to tyrants like Hitler and some of the leaders today who are behaving in a similar vein. 

The postmodern world rejects the notion that there are two biological genders and that any perverse expression of sexuality is acceptable. Crassness and indecency have become so commonplace. We have seen this recently creep into the Olympics, where the opening ceremony featured a parody mocking da Vinci’s “The Last Supper.” Basically, it was a disrespectful, anti-Christian display featuring drag queens with its transgender messaging. In their wisdom the promoters decided it would be good fodder for a child.

What are the Olympics all about? The International Olympic Committee has a mission statement. Two of the bullet points state the following: 

• to act against any form of discrimination affecting the Olympic Movement 

• to encourage and support the promotion of women in sport at all levels and in all structures with a view to implementing the principle of equality of men and women

The whole mission statement reads like a wake manual. Still, the Committee mentions that they reject discrimination and support women. Those are nice words, but in reality, they are meaningless. The denigration of Christianity at the opening ceremony and the provocativeness of the display show that there is little respect for people who hold a particular viewpoint. Would similar mockery be acceptable regarding an Islamic ritual?

We know the answer because, in 2015, we had the Charlie Hebdo mass shooting, which killed 17 people. This was all because of a cartoon mocking Mohammed, the prophet. 

Not only is Christianity under assault, but in addition, women are as well. Where are all the feminists? In these Olympics, two men are in the women’s boxing competition. In one of the matches a female boxer was humiliated.

How is that acceptable? In the postmodern world of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, anything is permissible. Not only that, they are shoving this ideology in your face. The opening ceremony was watched by a few billion people.

The Olympics are meant to be about striving for excellence. Instead, the opening ceremony conveyed a completely opposite vision in one fell swoop. When woke ideology infiltrates the Olympics, we know we are on the wrong path.

It’s curious how the open-border crowd can reconcile the Olympic Games to their view of the world. After all, the Games are based on individual countries competing. Countries are defined by their borders. Is the contradiction not apparent to the open-border people? If there is no point to a border, there is no point to competition between countries.

The devolution of accepted norms has accelerated in recent times. You can see the disintegration of societal morals when so many march on the streets in support of heinous crimes. The support is for the perpetrators, not the victims. In this new upside-down reality, hostage-taking is now a laudable activity because the end justifies the means. Theft is now just an accepted fact of doing business, with many jurisdictions refusing to prosecute the thieves, which only encourages more theft.

The one country that we used to rely upon as a beacon of moral sensibility, even with its imperfections––America––has lost all certainty.

No matter how powerful America is, it is so scared of anything that seems to produce absolute stability and maintain the status quo that they are destroying the very thing they are attempting to prevent. This is visible in its policy towards Iran, which is a non-policy. America today can present a rational global policy; however, the opposite is happening. This is led by the people who claim that Trump is erratic and will destroy democracy. Yet, Trump, by his sense of rational policy, actually presented us with a safer world. We were not discussing nuclear armageddon under the Trump administration as we are today.

Now we have Kamala Harris, who is shallow, an empty suit, and has no characteristics that would suggest she could head a country. If she does happen to win, she will again be a puppet like Biden for the nefarious forces that have infiltrated the Executive branch of the American government. This will continue the charade of the Biden Presidency, and America will have hit rock bottom.

Make no mistake, the forces on the left have every intention of eroding anything that stands in their way, including the Supreme Court. Any student of basic American history knows that America is a constitutional republic based on the separation of powers between the Executive, Legislative, and Judiciary. The left wants to change the rules of the game because a few decisions have yet to go in their favor, such as rulings in favor of Donald Trump. So, as the left focuses on the ill-advised failed domestic policies, the world is spinning out of control. Their plan is for term limits on justices and stacking the court. They can only do this with a 60% majority in the Senate. However, they will keep pushing the limits.

The West is in deep trouble as birth rates collapse and the value of children and families is denigrated. A case in point is Australia, experiencing its lowest number of births since 2006 and its most significant rate of decline in 50 years.

The trend is similar in most Western countries. In addition, the West is importing people without any criteria as to their commitment to our shared values. Why is that important? We see that the West has lost sight of the value system that has served us so well. The void that has been created means that we adopt someone else’s value system, further eroding our values and leading to decline.

So what is the solution? We must stop being spectators. It’s easy to live in comfortable surroundings and then express astonishment at what is happening to our culture.

It’s not acceptable to have children exposed to drag queens with the promotion of trans ideology. It’s not sufficient to be silent while racism, including antisemitism, rears its ugly head again, just in a different form. It’s not acceptable for parents to tolerate educational systems that teach woke ideology.

It is acceptable to encourage families and the beauty of children. It’s acceptable to base society on merit, not meaningless ‘equity.’ Unless we empower ourselves, someone else will take power over us.
