Several months ago, I wrote "The Coming Collapse of America: A Country Off The Rails".
I hoped that I would be wrong in my assessment. Quite the contrary, things are moving more rapidly than even I imagined. China is superseding America.
All great empires eventually succumb for one reason or another. It could be due to economic mismanagement, conflicts with foreign invaders, and military deterioration. Often it's a combination of causes.
The Roman Empire was the largest in history, spanning Northern Africa, much of Europe and even northern England and Scotland. You can see evidence of this today with Hadrian's Wall in England and the Antonine Wall in Scotland. Why did the Roman Empire collapse? For the usual reasons: corruption, a weakened military, and the Visigoths' invasion, one of the barbarian tribes.
The 20th century belonged to America. It dominated science, technology, space exploration, cinema, music and was the most powerful military. American values were revered throughout the democratic world. Many sought refuge in America. Remember the song from the 1961 musical West Side Story? "I like to be in America".
How quickly things changed. China has had a meteoric rise. America, on the contrary, has been beating itself up. There is a tearing down of traditions and values in the ranks of educational institutions, corporate America and even the military.
Many American corporations are no longer loyal to their native country. They appear to love everything about China. The elites are all on board with China. Names like Gates, Cook, Musk, Bezos and Fauci show how intertwined the elites are with China. We also know through various emails that President Biden himself has received financial favours from the Chinese.
Sport and entertainment view China as a significant market. They close their eyes to the totalitarian Chinese state that enslaves the Uighurs. It seems many in the U.S. don't care. They vociferously condemn the restriction of human rights elsewhere but not in China.
Remember Apartheid South Africa? There was an international boycott, and South Africa was banned from the Olympics. China is about to host its second Olympics despite human rights abuses.
China took over Hong Kong, and what was the world's reaction? Basically, ho-hum. Putin is threatening to take over parts of Ukraine, and America is ready to go to war over that. Of course, America sees no dollar signs when it comes to Putin. China, that's another story.
What about the novel Coronavirus that emanated from China? Have there been any investigations? Why did China not inform the world early of what would transpire? If we believe the accuracy of the international death counts due to Covid, we have to accept that more than 5 million have died. While China obfuscates, it’s business as usual. Part of the answer is that the NIH in America was involved in the gain-of-function research in China. This more than likely unleashed Covid-19. Anthony Fauci is squeaky "clean" despite being up to his neck in colluding with the Wuhan lab.
So who came out ahead economically from COVID-19? China, of course. Its economy grew at an annualized rate of 8.1% in 2021, while America lumbered along at 2.3%. There’s something quite perverse about the pandemic. The country from where it originated did the best.
China has surpassed America in so many areas without even firing a shot.
When it comes to a country's financial stability, one indicator is debt as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product (GDP)––goods and services that an economy generates. America ranks in the top 10 with 106% Debt/GDP. China is half of that at 55%. (IMF figures).
According to the IMF, China has now surpassed the U.S. as the world's largest economy at $24 trillion. While the U.S. has thrown millions on frivolous wars, China is waging economic and cyber warfare––and they're winning. Country after country is succumbing to Chinese infrastructure. The Chinese dole out the billions, and in return, they get favourable advantages for the supply of resources and get inroads into local politics.
China is now leading in science and research too.
It's not surprising since the U.S. educational system has deteriorated rapidly. Subjects like critical race theory, transgenderism and historical revisionism are so prevalent that American students can no longer compete with their Chinese counterparts.
When it comes to military strength, China's is almost at parity with the U.S. In some areas, it is ahead. It has the largest standing army, largest navy, supersonic rockets––not yet possessed by the U.S.––and is soon to dominate outer space. Many believe that the U.S. would come out second best to China in a war.
So the question to ask is this. Is China becoming more like us, or are we more like them? I think the answer is obvious. The Covid experience with lockdowns, mandates, and tracing apps point to a China-like adoption by Western "democracies". China must be laughing at us.
It's sad to see America deteriorate. I have been to America every decade since the 1950s and even lived there for two years in the 1990s. While there were problems, America’s positives significantly outweighed the negatives. Today that is not the case.
There are serious internal problems in the U.S., and probably the most significant is that the great bastion of freedom is losing its soul. America has defeated itself and is relegated to second place in the world. Unfortunately, many in the west are happy with the state of affairs.
Frightening to say the least!!!
The USA continues to get more and more parasites living off of its dying carcass. Whereas the Chinese people by and large work. In America nobody wants to work. They just complain about how stressed they are and how they are discriminated against. A society that doesn't work doesn't last very long.
