The 3 Main Reasons People Delay Going To A Chiropractor
Share

Some years ago, a 27-year-old man called Mark came into a chiropractic office with multiple complaints that had been present for many years. To say that his symptoms were affecting his life was an understatement. He suffered from headaches, neck and back pain, pins and needles in his hands, poor sleep, inability to concentrate, depression, and difficulty sustaining work.

Mark saw numerous doctors and physiotherapists over the years, and any X-rays that were taken were considered normal. In the end, it was felt that Mark had a psychological problem and was referred to a mental health practitioner. During his sessions, Mark mentioned that he had a fall when he was 12, which resulted in a neck injury. The therapist had the insight to suggest that Jason seek the services of a chiropractor to see if that could help him.

When Mark saw the chiropractor and had x-rays taken, it was discovered that he had significant derangement in the alignment of his neck vertebrae, despite previous x-rays being considered “normal”. Mark noticed a considerable improvement in his symptoms from the beginning of his care. His quality of life and mental health significantly improved, and he could hold steady work.

Unfortunately, Mark’s story is one we have heard many times. Sadly, it took 15 years of suffering before the key to Jason’s health problems was solved.

Perhaps even worse, positive patient experiences with chiropractic care have been discounted. The rationale may be that double-blind studies weren’t done. It is a denial of a patient’s experience. The statement, “The customer is always right”, holds true.

Here are a couple of reports: one having to do with a mental state, the other with an internal autoimmune condition. In both cases, there were positive outcomes.

I could list 100 other conditions or symptoms in which people showed improvement with chiropractic care.

So why do people delay going to a chiropractor when noticeable health benefits can occur?
