The 2020s: A Decade Of Never-Ending Absurdities

When the clock struck midnight on December 31, 2019, there must have been a synchronous flipping of a switch that took the world into a new and absurd existence.

Did the earth suddenly shift in its orbit? Or was there some strange virus released that caused some new mental affliction? The absurdity that is pervasive in today's world has a global commonality to it. There is a collective attempt to break down civilization and the values that have served humanity so well. It is a reverence for failure and a disdain for success; it's antithetical to the humanism that came from the Age of Enlightenment.

So what are we doing today?

It dawned on my wife and I that there has never been such a societal upheaval since 2020. Yes, we've had traumatic events in some countries, like the assassination of John F. Kennedy or 9/11, but what has transpired in the past 30 months is a global breakdown of rationality. 

We quarantined the healthy to protect the sick when in the past, we always quarantined the ill and let those healthy get on with being productive members of society. 

This was a total repudiation of public health policy. It caused devastating financial effects and a host of problems such as a dramatic increase in suicides, drug addiction and domestic violence.

There's no male or female, just some state of gender fluidity. 

This is similar to the Uncertainty Principle in Quantum Physics if you've ever studied the discipline. Nothing is certain until you observe or measure it. I suppose this is the rationale behind 53 different genders––you are what you think you are.

This gives rise to all manner of justification for genital mutilation of children and gender reassignment surgery. What's even more preposterous is that doctors are encouraging such thinking. There's only one thing you can call this; child abuse dressed up as 'equity'. How far we have fallen.

We're destroying energy because of a manufactured crisis.

When in human history have we intentionally fought a campaign to destroy virtually every vestige of modern life––energy? Even more ridiculous, the European Union has embraced a hysterical high school student to try to get to net zero emissions. It even includes eliminating nuclear power.

Not to be outdone, America has its John Kerry and Leonardo DiCaprio flitting worldwide on their private jets while lecturing the rest about climate change. At the same time, we are told the planet is on fire and we must cut back on heating and air conditioning. 

George Carlin said it well.

The following has the use of an expletive that some may find offensive.

The current President's Justice Department has the FBI raid the home of the previous President.

This is like something out of a Keystone Cops movie. Hello, remember Watergate? This was about an amateurish burglary of the office of the Democratic Party National Committee. Didn't it transfix America for almost two years? So now we have a break-in by 30 FBI agents with assault weapons at Trump's Mar-a-Lago home, rummaging through every room. All over a tiff about documents. I guess Donald Trump really is a terrorist. You couldn't create a better parody of modern-day America.

Defunding the police.

The rationale for this bizarre policy was, of course, the death of George Floyd. Because of one nasty police officer, the war on police, in general, became policy in many U.S. cities. Guess what happened? Crime went up—surprise! 

The same urban leaders who vilified police at every opportunity now complain about crime. However, they don't need to worry as they have their ever-present bodyguards protecting them. As always, innocent people are the victims.

How much lower can higher education go?

In the 20th century, U.S. universities were at the pinnacle of excellence by world standards. Of course, now we are witnessing a dumbing-down of what are supposed to be centres of higher learning.

The focus now is on gender studies, climate change, and critical race theory. The result is the churning out of a bunch of illiterates. They are supposedly university trained but lack awareness of history or their government structure. Watch.
