Question? Is America Freer Today Or Less So Than 10 Years Ago

Last week, a gentleman in an interview talked about the energy vibrations presaging a momentous event in the middle of July. He claims to be some futurist. I always take such specific predictions with a grain of salt. I recall a financial "expert" predicting the stock market collapse in July last year. If you keep making predictions repeatedly, the market will eventually collapse at some stage.

However, did the momentous event happen with the conviction of Donald Trump in New York state? In fact, I made a prediction in an August 2022 post that Trump would be indicted. Since he entered the political arena in 2015, the attacks on him have been relentless.

I didn't go far enough. Trump is now convicted.

During my lifetime, I've seen many presidents, from Truman in the 1940s to Eisenhower, then Kennedy and Johnson, and it has culminated in where we are today with Biden. The targeting of political opponents by the left in America with the help of the "justice" department is genuinely frightening and hard to believe. Is this America the bastion of freedom?

Evidently, the freedoms once cherished have been disappearing quickly for some time. The Covid pandemic was the excuse for implementing tyrannical rule. This didn't just occur in America but in most of the world. We look back on those days, and we think, well, that was in the past, now life has returned to normal––or has it?

Then, a few days ago, came another nail in the coffin of freedom—the conviction of Trump. For a triviality, this was the means that one party could get rid of the other party's candidate for the presidency. The sheer hubris of this whole event shows how far the leftists in America are willing to go. 

The District Attorney for New York, Alvin Bragg, campaigned for his position on the idea that he would get Trump for something. This is the same Bragg who refused to prosecute individuals for stealing, for involvement in the illicit drug trade, or for assault in New York state. Everyone knows this was a political hit job, much as all charges directed at Trump. Most legal scholars have stated that this was a sham trial. The goal is to get Trump removed from the presidential race.

What is the obsession over Donald Trump? He sometimes says some outlandish things, but that is not a crime under America's First Amendment. There is no doubt Trump is a polarizing figure. However, the level of hatred and unhinged behaviour coming from the left side of politics is disgraceful. Where is Joe Biden's "bringing the country together". The country is as polarized as ever. 

The attacks on Trump, going so far as putting him in jail, amount to election interference, the very thing they have accused Trump of doing. The reward of a conviction by the judge in the case means that it's open season on any political appointment, depending on who has the power. 

The Trump trial is a symptom of how America has become an autocratic state. Cross the powerful––the deep state––and you'll pay the price. The deep state is a triumvirate of the Executive branch, the judicial system, education and Big Pharma. Step outside the "norm", and they go after you.

At the same time, they'll accuse you of exactly what they are doing. Now they have their stormtroopers, groups like BLM, Antifa or the students who support Hamas, to do their dirty work. Isn't it interesting that Hamas is designated a terror organization, and they are calling for the killing of Jews, yet the justice department is silent? Jews on campus no longer feel free.

Trump has had his civil rights abrogated. He has been denied fair treatment. While being accused of trying to influence the upcoming election by paying hush money, we know that the Biden regime did worse when they claimed that Hunter Biden's laptop contained misinformation planted by the Russians. In fact, the information was proven accurate and implicated Biden in a pay-for-play scheme with China. There have been no prosecutions.

Remember Hillary Clinton with classified emails on her personal phone? Jim Comey, the FBI director at the time, openly stated she committed crimes, but "no reasonable prosecutor" would bring forward charges.

More recently, the FBI raided Trump's premises at Mar-a-Lago for having classified documents for which the Feds are seeking prosecution. Joe Biden had classified documents at his home since he was Vice President. A Special Counsel, Robert Hur, concluded the following:

"Mr. Biden's conduct present[ed] serious risks to national security, given the vulnerability of extraordinarily sensitive information to loss or compromise to America's adversaries…But addressing those risks when pursuing criminal charges, the only means available to this office, is not the proper remedy here." 

Presumably, he let Biden off the hook because he was a "sympathetic, well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory".

Lady justice is not blind. One law for me, not for thee.

Any objective look at America today shows a country in decline. I wonder how many Americans think how proud they are when they sing the national anthem at sporting events. I wonder how many feel they have more or less freedom today than 10 years ago. One thing is sure, in truth, the upcoming November election will not be a free one. The powers that be have disenfranchised Americans by tainting the whole process.

Freedom is a big loser on many levels, including health, sociology, the media, politics, and policy. I've never seen it before in all my years following America, and no doubt anyone around for a while recognizes that we have entered dangerous territory.
