In the study of virology, there is something called Muller’s Ratchet. It states that when there are high rates of mutation, viruses will select out for those less pathogenic (deadly) for those more easily spread and infectious. It appears to be happening with the Omicron variant. If the trend continues, this could be great news.
All the evidence to date indicates that Omicron is very highly infectious. Some predict that almost all of us will get it, vaccine or no vaccine. The vaccine is useless against Omicron, as it was against Delta, only Delta was much more lethal.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the U.S. has even stated that Covid-19, an RNA virus, has a high mutation rate and evades vaccines. The typical reaction of our antibodies is to bind to specific foreign antigens, much like a lock and key. However, with Covid-19, the mutations are in the spike protein of the virus that attaches to cells––the Receptor Binding Domain. Due to the high rate of mass vaccination, these injections likely drove the Delta variant.
So many have had Delta in many countries that there is now a high rate of immunity to Delta, meaning people don’t get it a second time. But Omicron is different.
Omicron is very mild. In most cases, it lasts one to two days, and it only affects the upper respiratory tract––the throat and nose. However, there are indications it may make you more susceptible to getting Covid again, which didn’t happen previously.
The good news is that Omicron may be acting as a natural vaccine without the side effects. There is no long Covid with Omicron. There are no adverse events like with the artificial vaccine, and basically, your life doesn’t get disrupted because it’s much like the common cold.
The downside is that the vaccine pushers will justify more injections because there will be more infections. Little do they realize that they are perpetuating the problem. If we had just left things alone and not rushed the shots without proper testing but provided early treatment, today, more than likely, the Covid pandemic would be over.
"However, there are indications it may make you more susceptible to getting Covid again, which didn’t happen previously." Do you mean getting Omicron more than once?
