Have We Learned Anything About The Holocaust? Apparently Not.

First Covid, now the terrorist attack on civilians in Israel demonstrate that we not only haven’t learned anything from the Holocaust, but we are actually enabling it.

We know about the trials of Nazis at Nuremberg for the genocide they inflicted on Jews and others. One of the principles that came out of the Nuremberg Code relating to medical treatment was the following:

“The voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential. This means that the person involved should have legal capacity to give consent; should be so situated as to be able to exercise free power of choice, without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, overreaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion; and should have sufficient knowledge and comprehension of the elements of the subject matter involved as to enable him to make an understanding and enlightened decision. This latter element requires that before the acceptance of an affirmative decision by the experimental subject there should be made known to him the nature, duration, and purpose of the experiment; the method and means by which it is to be conducted; all inconveniences and hazards reasonably to be expected; and the effects upon his health or person which may possibly come from his participation in the experiment.”

Essentially, the code says that people need to have autonomy when it comes to their health. People should not be coerced into undertaking medical experimentation. Some say people were free not to take the COVID-19 vaccines. How free were many when they would lose their jobs if they didn’t take the jabs? Great choice; don’t take the jab but lose your livelihood, house and way of life. This applied to many doctors who would forfeit their licenses if they didn’t take the Covid shot.

I didn’t intend to get into a discourse about the Arab-Israeli conflict, which is decades old. Still, the attack on civilians in Israel by Hamas needs addressing. 

We have seen death squads move from house to house, much like the tactics used by the Nazis and ISIS. Seeing the images of innocent civilians, men, women, and babies being murdered and mutilated is distressing enough, but what is almost as disturbing is to see the ideological hatred by people––mainly Muslims in the West––encouraging the “Palestinians” and berating Israelis.

Yes, they come out and tell us it’s about the Jews. Antisemitism is alive and well. Hitler’s legacy goes on.

The whole “Palestine” issue is based on a falsehood.

THERE NEVER WAS A COUNTRY CALLED PALESTINE. I am not saying that to be provocative. I am stating something objectively factual. The Romans, who conquered the Hebrew nation in the second century of the Common Era, used the name as a province in a portion of their empire. Jews were there before the Romans and before any so-called Palestinians.

Through the Middle Ages and WWI, the Ottoman Empire controlled the whole region of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Israel. Under the post-war agreement, there were two mandates to administer the area. The French had the mandate for a future Syria and Lebanon. In contrast, the British had the mandate for the future states of Israel and Jordan. The British called the mandate, Palestine, and had Jews and Arabs living there.

I was born in the Mandate of Palestine; my mother had been there since 1932. Below is a copy of part of my birth certificate. I have omitted the body of it to maintain privacy.

You'll notice that the languages used were Hebrew, English and Arabic.

Appreciate that throughout the 1920s, 30s and 40s, Arab bands committed atrocities against Jewish settlements. In response, Jews formed their own bands and attacked Arab villages. So, this is nothing new today; only the weaponry is much more sophisticated.

Many in the West don't realize, especially the younger generation, that Muslims oppressed Jews during and after the Ottoman Empire's fall. Muslims allied with the Nazis before the creation of Israel. This is well documented.

The United Nations plan of 1947 awarded the Jews 55% of the mandated land, which was mostly the southern, arid Negev Desert. Below is the map of the original 1947.

You can see that there was such a narrow portion between the Israeli portion and the sea in two places. 

So when people say the Middle East needs a two-state solution, guess what? There was one in 1947. However, those plans were entirely unacceptable to the Arab countries, which simultaneously attacked the young Jewish state from all sides in the 1948 war. The idea was to exterminate the Jewish state just three years after the German effort to eradicate the Jewish people. After that war, the Israelis ended up with an even higher percentage of the land. 

In subsequent conflicts, such as 1967 and 1973, the Israelis acquired more land, and while a buffer, it didn't provide complete security. However, there would have been no Israel if they had the original borders in today's environment.

In 2006, in the mistaken belief by Israel that it would enhance peace, Israel gave up its occupation of the Gaza Strip. They even took the step of dragging their own settlers out of Gaza. So, what did they get in return? Multiple episodes of rockets fired into civilian areas of Israel.

Israel didn't ask for wars, but they needed that extra buffer to survive. How many countries in the world have acquired additional land through conflict? Europe has many regions where borders have changed. People, for the most part, have accepted the situation and do not engage in depraved terroristic activities.

Suppose is you use previously exchanged lands as a rationale for war, you can justify any conflict. In that case, Mexico could launching missiles into Texas, raping and pillaging in civilian areas of Texas. After all, Mexico lost Texas and the Mexican-American War of 1847. How would Americans react if they suddenly were bombarded by another country because of a perceived theft of land? They wouldn't take it. Yet, when it comes to Israel, the Israelis must suspend all protections other countries take as a natural right. 

One of the tenets of the Geneva Convention states the following concerning civilians.

""It requires humane treatment for all persons in enemy hands, without any adverse distinction. It specifically prohibits murder, mutilation, torture, cruel, humiliating and degrading treatment, the taking of hostages and unfair trial.""

To date, some 1,000 Israeli civilians have died. That is equivalent to a terrorist attack in America killing 42,000 people, extrapolating for the U.S. population. That is eight times greater than the combined death toll from Pearl Harbor and 9/11––the size of a small city.

The other falsehood is that Israel is an apartheid country. This has been pushed by the radical left in the West. It's totally false. Arabs, Muslims, and any other ethnic group have full rights in Israel. The Israeli Parliament, the Knesset, has several Islamic members, which has been the case for years. The Supreme Court of Israel has a Muslim Arab on the bench and, in the past, has had other Arabs serving. In the Israeli military, Arabs are serving; overall, the Muslims in Israel are 1.7 million. Apartheid, seriously?

On many levels, the falsehood of the whole Israeli-Palestinian question has been repeated so many times that many in the West accept them as fact. Please make no mistake: the motivation is Jew hatred by Islamic extremists. We know what Hamas, Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad are. However, giving the situation moral equivalency from many in the West, including politicians, says much about our morality.
