When Donald Trump became President in January 2017, I supported his vision for America. Even though I’m not an American, I thought his policies would benefit everyone. He did come through with many positive changes, particularly on the economic and foreign policy fronts.
I didn’t particularly like some of his cringe-worthy antics; sometimes, they were childish. But with Trump, you know what you get.
Now that Trump and a few others have announced their running to be the Republican nominee for the 2024 election, I find it puzzling that he is launching into Ron DeSantis, Governor of Florida, with the same old schtick. It’s getting tiresome. Watch this recent clip.
Notice that he calls DeSantis Ron De-Sank-tis. This follows his comments about Ron Desanctimonious. His remarks are ill-advised on several levels.
He tries to discount DeSantis’ achievements in Florida, which are many. Why do you think DeSantis won re-election by 20 points in 2022, a record blowout for Florida? Because he did a great job. Trump is wrong on this issue.
He claims that DeSantis was affiliated with Paul Ryan, former Speaker of the House. Since Ryan was a “loser”, by association Trump is saying DeSantis is a loser. Wrong, Mr Trump; DeSantis was one of the founding members of the Freedom Caucus, supported Trump, opposed the witch hunt against Trump, and pushed back against Ryan.
Trump was President, but he acts like DeSantis is the President. Trump is hurling darts at DeSantis instead of the other way around. DeSantis, meanwhile, is staying above the fray, looking Presidential.
Trump fell severely on the Covid debacle, especially on the issue of lockdowns and vaccines—Trump still promotes ”Operation Warp Speed” as an outstanding achievement. He still doesn’t acknowledge that the vaccines created ill health and death. Is he so lacking in self-awareness?
Trump issued a proclamation that the country should lockdown. He continued that refrain for two years. Jeffrey Tucker, in his excellent article shows that Trump’s decision-making concerning Covid-19 was not commendable and failed in the leadership department. DeSantis and his team recognized the damage of lockdowns and dropped them quickly plus, once the data came in, they discouraged the mass vaccination program.
Funny, DeSantis has yet to announce a Presidential run for 2024, yet Trump seems obsessed with the man. I’m afraid Trump won’t change; he’ll keep demeaning himself by making outlandish claims against a successful governor. Can Trump not see that he is doing to others what was done to him? He is engaging in his own fake news. Does Trump want to keep alienating prospective supporters? It appears he doesn’t care.
It’s evident to me he’s doing it out of fear. He doesn’t sound very Presidential when he attacks someone not even on the debate stage with him.
As the saying goes:
This is particularly true for those on the same side ideologically.
Donald Trump: It Seems He Fears Ron DeSantis
The majority of politicians are puppets. The right and the left refers to either hand of the puppet master; the hidden hand is shoved so far up the politician's backside, it's elbows to assholes. The purpose of all politicians is to DISTRACT us, this is so the real masters can rob us and asset stripp our country. So they can write contracts between our corporate government and the military industrial complex to create medical countermeasures, MCMs or prototypes under OTA; not vaccines which are strictly regulated by FDA. Trump's Warp Speed was done through the OTA shown in the Patriot Act. Other Transaction Authority. The real source of decision making is actually coming from the Bank of International Settlements. Distractions help the Criminal Cabal get away with it. Trump and DeSantis are just Distractions. Let's examine the source.
always insightful, many thanks
