I think it’s pretty ironic that there is a news site called American Greatness. Pushing that narrative is wearing a bit thin of late. While it’s easy to keep verbalizing how great America is, reality says otherwise. I guess it depends on what you mean by ‘greatness’.
We know about all the cultural rot set in these past few years. The real worry is those actively seeking to destroy their own country. Another measure of greatness is how a government treats its citizens.
Journalist Julie Kelly, who writes for American Greatness, posted the following article, which shows how awful Americans are being treated.
What is troubling is that decent people's lives are being ruined because of an alleged insurrection on January 6, 2021. It was really just a protest that got out of hand. Few engaged in any violence, and the couple described in the article, the Christensens, are having their lives ruined because they dared to make their feelings known on that day by exercising their right to protest. Imagine being invited into the Capital by the police and then charged as an insurrectionist.
The real insurrectionist is the federal government from the President downward. The FBI and its allies in the justice department have weaponized the government against their people. It's really a get-Trump operation at any cost.
Greatness?
As an senior American I cannot disagree with you. This not the America I grew up in. I’m ashamed of our leaders.
Calling it a riot is pure political theatre. I’ve seen more violence at a sports match. People are waking up to the Democrat gaslighting and it’s likely to cause a real insurrection to take place when the public finally have enough of the gaslighting. January 6 was more of a warning. If corruption in government is not addressed soon the public will eventually put an end to it
