It’s hard to believe it’s been 47 years since the great black comedy, Network hit the big screen. There were some great performances from William Holden, Faye Dunaway and Australian Peter Finch, who won an Oscar posthumously following his death at the young age of 61.
It’s uncanny how the movie foretold the world of today. I hadn’t seen it in years, so we watched it for the first time in decades two nights ago. If you substituted what was the TV industry then with the online world today, it would be a prescient vision of the future.
“I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore.” This was the memorable line uttered by Finch.
“I’m a human being; my life has value.”
Isn’t that the truth? It does apply to what we experienced the last three years where people felt that there lives did not have value. That is what the Covid tyrants brought us. Covid is just the latest iteration of the attempt to dehumanize the populace.
In the next clip from the movie, Arthur Jensen (Ned Beatty), the Network head, gives Howard Beale (Peter Finch) an earful about the state of the world.
The lines that stand out are the following:
“ There are no nations. There are no peoples. There are no Russians. There are no Arabs. There are no third worlds. There is no West. There is only one holistic system of systems, one vast and immane, interwoven, interacting, multivariate, multinational dominion of dollars. Petro-dollars, electro-dollars, multi-dollars, reichmarks, rins, rubles, pounds, and shekels.
It is the international system of currency which determines the totality of life on this planet. That is the natural order of things today.
There is no America. There is no democracy. There is ony IBM and ITT and AT&T…and DuPont, Dow, Union Carbide and Exxon. Those are the nations of the world today.
We no longer live in a world of nations and ideologies, Mr Beale.”
The world is a college of corporations, inexorably determined by the immutable bylaws of business. The world is a business, Mr. Beale.
All necessities provided, all anxieties tranquilized, all boredom amused. And I have chosen you, Mr. Beale, to preach this evangel.”
Now where have we heard that before? Of course, the World Economic Forum, One World Order and the Great Reset. “You will own nothing and be happy”. Nothing is really new, we have just rearranged the deck chairs.
EXCELLENT! Never doubt this was planned many centuries ago. That is how long we have been held hostage. There may be ways to escape but none are convenient.
There were many movies telling us what is coming during the 60s, 70s,and 80s and of course before that.
Soylent Green I watched in 72 when I was 16 and watched it again last year only then realized it takes place in 2022.
Network was 76 I think but so many more told us the future.
The identity stealers called KAZARIANS from thousands of years ago are doing their thing everywhere.
We can stop it still but not forever.
If you saw terminator the movie then you know fighting the machines is not that far off.
All we need to do is BURN the TOWERS DOWN.
Soon.
I put magic marker on the robots were I can.
Loblaws here just north of us is setting up robots to enter the store soon.
I'm going to step over the barriers and test things out let's say.
I will not shop there ever again as we already moved most money out of these BOUGHT OFF GLOBALIST WHORE businesses.
I go to cause trouble only.
